Latest Liverpool transfer news, with Arne Slot providing major updates on summer targets Xavi Simons and Nico Williams.
Arne Slot has received some important Liverpool transfer updates in the previous 24 hours.
With the European Championships still ongoing, the Reds have yet to finalise any potential new signings; however, this could change very soon. Adrien Rabiot of Juventus is the latest player to be linked with a move to Anfield, joining the likes of Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Xavi Simons, and Nico Williams, all of whom have impressed in Germany.
Given how the summer tournament has grabbed center stage, several other major teams have expressed interest in the aforementioned players. Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich have all been connected with either Simons or Williams. With that in mind, the Echo has gathered the most recent information on both of these interesting attackers.
Xavi Simons’ ‘transfer choice’
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Simons has officially notified Paris Saint-Germain that he intends to leave the club this summer, although on another loan.
RB Leipzig, where he spent last season, is interested in re-signing him, as are Bayern, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
This revelation comes after Simons provided a specific transfer timeline to clubs interested in securing his talents. He confessed, “We’ll see after the Euros.”
When asked if he would return to Paris, he said, “I was pleased there. Things have happened. I was in Leipzig this year. “We’ll see after the Euros.”
Nico Williams on the future
Nico Williams, like Simons, has spoken out about his future, but his verdict was very different. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, he told La1: “I recently signed a new contract with Athletic a few weeks ago, and I’m extremely happy there.
“I am extremely delighted at Athletic. It’s unusual to get questions about my future. Many clubs have viewed the release clause in the new contract, which is estimated to be in the region of £55 million, as a chance to recruit him, but Williams plainly wants to stay with the La Liga club.
