TalkSPORT Simon Jordan has made an intriguing assertion about Nottingham Forest and the City Ground following Leeds United’s victory on Thursday.
The Yorkshire club advanced to the Championship play-off final on Thursday, defeating Norwich City 4-0.
Following a tumultuous season for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, Daniel Farke’s side might possibly face Nottingham Forest in the top division next season.
Although not technically safe, Luton Town would need a miracle to overcome the three-point and 12-goal deficit between the two sides on Sunday.
Following Leeds’ stunning triumph on Thursday night, Jordan has drawn a comparison between the two clubs.
And the former Crystal Palace owner has made no comparisons between the problems both sides have encountered on the football in the Premier League.
What Simon Jordan has said about Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.
Forest will be relieved to see the end of this season, which has been marred by issues both on and off the pitch.
Evangelos Marinakis, Forest’s owner, was anticipated to pursue legal action if they lost due to some of the VAR rulings that went against them.
But one thing has remained consistent throughout the season: fan support at City Ground.
Forest has struggled this season and may only be able to survive by the skin of their teeth.
However, when visiting teams arrive at the City Ground, Forest fans have undoubtedly presented them with a 12th man to play against.
Jordan, speaking on TalkSPORT on Friday morning, compared the atmosphere at both the City Ground and Elland Road.
“When you visit Elland Road, you know you’re at a football club. “When you walk into that stadium, you notice the atmosphere,” he remarked.
“To some sense, it’s different but akin to going to Nottingham Forest and seeing them play. I’ve taken teams up there to witness the environment and attitudes toward the club.”
Andrew Omobamidele has also praised the Forest fans.
When a team is struggling, like Forest has been this season, it is natural for fans to vent their concerns.
However, this has not been the case at Forest, with the City Ground rallying around their players.
That has not gone ignored by the players, as defender Andrew Omobamidele praised the Forest fans.
“We had a terrific night on Tuesday. “I keep going back to it, but the fans were fantastic,” he stated following their victory over Fulham.
“You know, it was something I haven’t really experienced too many times in my career, that level of noise from minute one to the last.”
