Liverpool hasn’t really started to ramp up during the summer transfer season yet.
The Reds are officially in the Arne Slot era, and the team will be collaborating with Slot to make sure that any upcoming acquisitions are a perfect fit.
Naturally, since Slot’s arrival, a number of players have been linked to moves to Anfield.
Naturally, a few Dutch players have been mentioned in addition to others who have been linked, including Crysencio Summerville.
Teun Koopmeiners, a midfield player for Atalanta, is another Dutch player who has been linked to a move to Liverpool.
The midfielder is reportedly a big fan of the Reds, and recent reports have indicated that they might sign him.
But Fabrizio Romano has cast doubt on those Liverpool rumors, offering an update on the issue.
Following contacts with Liverpool, Fabrizio Romano provides Teun Koopmeiner’s update.
While Liverpool has been suggested in relation to Koopmeiners, Romano has stated in his blog for CaughtOffside that it is actually Juventus who intends to sign the Dutchman.
According to my information, Juventus is the only team currently in talks to sign Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, despite various rumors to the contrary. Naturally, things could change, and we’ll find out in the coming days, but Koopmeiners and Juventus have reached an agreement, and he appears committed to sticking in Serie A.
“Now that everything has been agreed upon by the players, Juventus and Atalanta must come to an understanding. After Juve signed Khephren Thuram—which should be revealed in the coming days—talks will shortly begin. In an exciting addition to the Juve midfield, Douglas Luiz has also been confirmed to join.
“Juventus and Koopmeiners are working on it; we’re just waiting on their initial bid to Atalanta, which should happen very soon.”
Koopmeiners, who was named the “best midfielder in Europe” the previous campaign, was one of Atalanta’s top players. He has been linked to several moves, as have several of his teammates.
Ederson, his teammate in midfield at Atalanta, has also been connected to a transfer to Liverpool.
For the time being, though, it appears like Koopmeiners is headed for Juventus, so any action from Liverpool will come late.
