He was connected with a move to the City Ground this week, and now he has had his say about it.
Marco Friedl, an Austria international, has denied links to Nottingham Forest and claims there have been no negotiations about a move to the City Ground.
According to reports earlier this week, the Reds were interested in signing the Werder Bremen captain, who has two years remaining on his contract.
Forest are thought to be looking for a new centre-back, and Friedl’s name has come up as a possible contender.
However, the player has distanced himself from the conjecture, stating that he is content where he is, despite claims that he was interested in moving to the Premier League.
“These are rumours, I have always said how comfortable I feel here and that I still have a lot planned with the club,” said the footballer.
“There has been no discussion of an inquiry so far and it is not an issue for the club and for me.”
Forest were alleged to have contacted the player’s representation, and his fee was estimated to be between £10 million and £15 million.
However, Bremen is not under any pressure to sell, despite reports that they would explore a switch for the right price.
