Leeds United has seen a number of players arrive and go throughout the summer transfer window.
Since the window opened, the Whites have seen players like Archie Gray leave for Tottenham, while Joe Rodon returned.
Although these are the two most significant moves from Elland Road thus far, the West Yorkshire club does not intend to stop there.
The loss of Gray has been a huge blow to both the team and the fans, and Glen Kamara is one guy Leeds will not want to lose.
The Finland international has been widely linked with a move to Stade Rennais and is thought to have reached an agreement on personal conditions [Corriere dello Sport].
It would be surprising to see the former Rangers player leave, but with the signing of Joe Rothwell on loan from Bournemouth, Daniel Farke appears to be preparing for a possible departure.
Why Leeds United’s signing of Joe Rothwell could indicate Glen Kamara’s departure.
Rothwell was occasionally pushed higher forward in a central midfield role for Southampton last season.
However, he spent the majority of the season as a holding playmaker. Farke typically lines up his squad in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
So, theoretically, both players may be on the team. However, after spending much of last season as a centre-back, Ethan Ampadu’s natural position is that of defensive midfielder.
And, with Pascal Struijk’s comeback from a long-term injury likely, the Wales international may be pushed even further forward.
This would leave Leeds with three defensive midfielders and just two starting slots, so it appears that Kamara may be on his way out, especially with Rothwell joining the club.
Of course, things change quickly during the transfer window, and anything can happen, but one thing is certain: this is one to watch during the summer.
