View: Leeds may already have Glen Kamara’s replacement lined up amid transfer developments

Leeds United’s midfield has already undergone a major change during the summer transfer window.

The West Yorkshire club is fighting for Premier League promotion after narrowly missing out on the playoff final at the end of the previous season.

This time around, Daniel Farke’s team will be seeking to improve their performance and possibly finish in the automatic promotion spots to escape playoff heartbreak once more.

Archie Gray is the most notable departure from Elland Road this season, but for the bulk of the season, he was not deployed in his native position of defensive midfield.

Glen Kamara, on the other hand, was a constant for Leeds in the middle of the park, and while he did not make headlines, he was reliable enough.

The former Rangers player is 28 years old, and Leeds have agreed an £8.5 million deal with Rennes for his upcoming departure from Elland Road [Fabrizio Romano, July 13].

Leeds United should step up their transfer chase of Oliver Skipp.

Skipp has been linked with a move to Elland Road since the end of the previous season [Alasdair Gold, July 1].

Although the midfielder played a few appearances for Tottenham last season, at the age of 23, he is likely to demand regular first-team action.

This would allow him to not only improve his skill set, but also to demonstrate his talent to supporters and possibly other clubs.

Although Leeds’ interest appears to have waned recently, Skipp will remain in the back of Farke’s mind, especially given his ability as a player.

The two previously worked together at Norwich, so it’s no surprise that the German wants to reunite with the Spurs academy graduate, which might now become a reality.
