Nottingham Forest’s excellent summer seems poised to continue in the coming hours, as the Reds close in on their sixth signing.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team will play their final pre-season friendly of the Spain trip on Friday night before returning to the City Ground.
The Reds have had a fantastic start to the summer, both on and off the pitch, with Forest remaining unbeaten in their three friendlies.
The players have looked refreshed after their summer break, and the new arrivals appear to be instant hits.
However, Evangelos Marinakis is not finished yet, as the Forest owner is set to complete another deal in the coming hours.
Nottingham Forest are preparing to make their sixth summer signing.
Forest may have signed five players this summer, but only four are available for Nuno to choose from, with Marko Stamenic immediately loaned out for the season.
After a season of battling the drop, Marinakis hopes to equip Nuno with the resources he needs to make progress at City Ground.
This is Nuno’s first summer transfer window at Forest, and he is making significant changes.
Although the next addition will not arrive in time for Forest’s pre-season trip to Spain, Nuno appears to have found another attacking weapon to add to his team.
According to journalist Uriel Lugt, Forest are now’very close’ to signing winger Ramon Sosa.
Forest are thought to have increased their bid for the CA Talleres attacker to roughly €12 million (£10 million) with add-ons.
The 24-year-old is thought to be eager to join the Premier League, with a formal agreement expected within the next few hours.
Forest adds another assault option.
So far this summer, Forest has signed Eric da Silva Moreira to their team, complementing the club’s already strong winger roster.
In recent weeks, there has been talk over Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga’s futures.
Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Elanga, while Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Hudson-Odoi.
Forest might acquire Sosa, a winger who has showed a lot of potential in Argentina, scoring seven goals and assisting six times in 21 games this season.
Forest fans will be hopeful that these attacking acquisitions do not mean a late exit for Elanga or Hudson-Odoi.
