Leeds United are once again at a stage in the season when the majority of their players go for international service.
With Daniel Farke dealing with so many injuries in recent weeks, many may believe that the international break has come at the right time.
However, with so many of the team jetting across the world and a Friday night fixture against Sheffield United to contend with when club football resumes, few will be taking a vacation.
Brenden Aaronson is already a question for Leeds’ match against the Blades since the USA is in action away at Mexico in the early hours of Wednesday morning, leaving him little time to fly back and recover.
Junior Firpo and Ao Tanaka are both playing hundreds of miles away on Tuesday, so there may be some tired bodies by the time Leeds’ next game comes around.
Leeds appears to make the Manor Solomon decision.
Leeds have been without many key first-team players in recent weeks, with Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev joining fellow internationals Manor Solomon, Dan James, and Max Wober on the sidelines.
Solomon has been out of action since Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Burnley, the game immediately following the September international break, in which he played 170 of a possible 180 minutes for Israel.
After missing the most of the previous year due to injury, Solomon plainly found four games in two weeks to be too much, and he has missed the last four.
Despite the injury difficulties, Israel nominated the ‘unplayable’ Solomon to their updated roster for the forthcoming Nations League matches against France and Italy.
Thankfully, Leeds appear to have verified that he will not be leaving by not including him on the list of players on the official club website who will be departing to represent their various nations.
This appears to be the correct move, as not only would it have risked further injury, but Solomon’s image among Leeds fans would have suffered significantly if he had left after missing four consecutive games.
Daniel Farke reveals when Solomon could return for Leeds.
Solomon had hoped to be fit for one of last week’s excursions to Norwich City or Sunderland.
Unfortunately, he was unable to recuperate in time, but the next two weeks should provide him with enough time to regain full fitness.
In fact, Daniel Farke hopes both Solomon and James will return against Sheffield United, giving him some genuine alternatives off the bench.
He stated: “Solomon and James will hopefully return. Hopefully Wober will return shortly. “Will last a while.”
