‘Undefendable’ – talkSPORT analyst stunned by what ‘Terrific’ Leeds star performed against Huddersfield
Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville stunned Dean Ashton with a “undefendable” display of talent in the Whites’ Championship clash with Huddersfield Town.
The Whites were unable to recover from their FA Cup setback to Chelsea, drawing 1-1 on Saturday (2 March), with Patrick Bamford’s second-half strike saving a vital point.
While Summerville was unable to add to his goal total, he remained active down both flanks and had many great individual skills, including one to beat Brodie Spencer in the opening exchanges.
On talkSPORT on Saturday (2 March, 12:40), he said: “That’s pretty undefendable from a Leeds standpoint; it’s just played into Summerville, and with one touch, he span and was away from Spencer.
“It was terrific pace of thought, speed of foot from Summerville and he’s going to make it a very, very difficult afternoon for Spencer I’m sure.”
Will Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville leave during the summer transfer window?
Few players have been as reliable for Daniel Farke since his arrival at Leeds United as Summerville, who has grown from strength to strength in a Whites shirt this season.
This season at Elland Road, the Dutchman has significantly improved his overall game, becoming a far more effective force in possession as both a creative player and an individual goal threat.
While he was not at his best against the Terriers on Saturday, he nevertheless wreaked havoc down both flanks with his explosive pace and fantastic talent, leaving both Huddersfield full-backs in his wake.
Farke’s approach is all about rapid counter-attacks and breaking the tempo on transition, and it wouldn’t work without Summerville. The Leeds manager and Whites fans will just hope he stays a Leeds player for a little longer.
