Tottenham intends to make their January deal public ‘by next week’ after tracking him for 18 months

Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in signing Genoa defender Radu Dragusin.

A report from Dean Jones indicates that Tottenham have been watching the defender for almost 18 months, and they hope to unveil him as their first January signing ‘by next week’.

Tottenham are convinced that they will be able to reach a deal with the defender on personal terms, and they are now trying to reach an arrangement with the Italian club.

Jones feels the final sum for the defender will be less than £25 million.

Dean Jones, on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, said: “It’s gone beyond a line of enquiry now, I’m told they’re confident personal terms won’t be a problem and it’s just the terms of a transfer and what fee it would be, it will be under £25m I think, if it comes together it will be this week, Spurs have like six fall-back options if this falls apart, but by next week they want to unveil this signing.”

Tottenham have other options if the trade does not go through, and it will be interesting to see how the scenario evolves.

According to the writer, Dragusin was not Tottenham’s first choice ahead of the January transfer window, with the club preferring to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice.

However, a deal for the French international defender this month appears improbable, and Tottenham have now chosen to move on to the 21-year-old Romanian central defender.

Dragusin is a remarkable young talent who has already established himself as one of the greatest young defenders in the Italian league and has the potential to succeed in the Premier League as well. He might be a long-term asset for Tottenham, and Ange Postecoglou could assist the teenager realize his enormous potential by providing regular Premier League playing.

If Tottenham can sign him for approximately £25 million, it may be a fantastic long-term investment for them.
