Chelsea’s bid for Antonio Nusa was rejected by Club Brugge in the summer, but Spurs are hoping to close the deal.

Tottenham have gone ahead of Chelsea and are in talks with Club Brugge about intriguing winger Antonio Nusa. Chelsea’s bid of roughly £23 million for the Norway international was rejected last summer, but Spurs are hoping to reach an agreement for a little higher price.

The north London club has been scouting Europe for some of the best talents and has managed to secure the likes of Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie, both now first-team players, by leveraging their impressive scouting networks and offering deals that allow young stars to stay at their selling club to continue developing before moving to the Premier League.

When Spurs signed Senegal international Metz in 2021, they agreed to let him stay there for a season before joining the Lilywhites. They did the same thing when they bought Udogie from Udinese and are hoping to do the same with the fast-rising Nusa, according to LondonWorld.

Still only 18, the winger has four caps for Norway and is regarded as a rising talent in European football, with scouts around the world keeping a close eye on him. Spurs have demonstrated remarkable desire this transfer window by already signing Timo Werner to replace Son Heung-in, who is overseas for the Asian Cup. The German forward made his Manchester United debut last weekend, scoring an assist in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
They have also signed centre-back Radu Dragusin from Genoa in a deal for up to £26 million as they attempt to support boss Ange Postecoglou, who has settled in well in north London. Next week, the Lilywhites face Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
