Tottenham have declined a bid from Spanish giants for the 27-year-old

Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a loan transfer to Barcelona.

The Spanish giants expressed great interest in Spurs’ midfielder in the summer and have continued to pursue him this month.

Barcelona’s pursuit is viewed as an attempt to find a short-term answer in the midfield following Gavi’s season-ending injury.

According to the Independent, Barcelona made loan bids for Lo Celso and Kalvin Phillips, which were rejected by Tottenham and Manchester City, respectively.

Financial restrictions have limited Barcelona’s budget, prompting them to make a “low-ball offer” for Lo Celso.

Spurs, on the other hand, rejected the offer because the loan terms and wage arrangement fell ‘far short’ of their expectations.

Rosario’s attacking midfielder has seen his playing time decreased, owing to injuries. However, when he has played, he has had spectacular performances, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

While Spurs may consider letting the player depart, Barcelona’s low-ball bids have so far failed to persuade the club to accept the option.
