‘Top priority’: Fabrizio Romano shares the signing. Leeds genuinely wants to make next

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Leeds United’s pursuit for additional incoming transfers.

Daniel Farke has stated that Leeds are still looking for new players, something he hasn’t done in previous transfer windows at Elland Road.

Leeds have made a considerably quicker start to the transfer season than they did a year ago, when they only signed Ethan Ampadu and Karl Darlow to replace a significant number of outgoings.

This summer, however, they have already signed four new players, giving them ample time to adapt within the club before the season begins.

And it’s fair to say that Joe Rodon, Joe Rothwell, and Jayden Bogle have all made an immediate impact in the friendlies, with the latter even providing an assist on debut.

Romano offers an update on incomings at Leeds.

Leeds’ recruitment crew has been out in Germany alongside the playing squad this week, hoping to have a regular discussion with Farke about recruits.

It has been a quiet week since Bogle’s arrival was announced seven days ago, but work has continued behind the scenes, with Leeds making a bid for FC Koln’s Dejan Ljubicic.

Leeds is thought to have made a bid of around £3.3 million, and they may make another offer before the end of the weekend.

However, Koln is willing to offer Ljubicic a new contract, so the 26-year-old will not be the only player on Leeds’ midfield shortlist.

Fabrizio Romano told Give Me Sport that midfield is their ‘top focus’ right now, and they are still scouting the market for potential additions.

He stated, “Their top priority is midfield.” They are seeking for players in that position, particularly after signing [Glen] Kamara. They definitely want to do something there.

“I believe it is critical for them to understand what happens with Summerville in the next week or ten days because it is such an important part of their market.” Then, of course, they may do something in midfield as one of their objectives.”

Romano offers the latest Crysencio Summerville Leeds departure information.

Speaking with the same publication, Romano also provided an update on Crysencio Summerville’s future at Leeds.

Romano has confirmed West Ham United’s serious interest in the 22-year-old, but Leeds’ asking price may prevent the Hammers from making a move.

He stated, “Interest in Summerville remains strong. It’s an expensive package, so I’m not sure West Ham will be able to pull it off, but the interest is genuine.

“They have contacts on both the player and club sides after meeting with Leeds last week. He is one of the players on their short list.
