Paul Merson predicts how Nuno’s Nottingham Forest will perform against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the City Ground this weekend.
The former Arsenal and Aston Villa player has predicted three goals in the Premier League match between Forest and Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
So, what did Paul Merson have to say about Nottingham Forest’s game versus Liverpool? Let’s have a look.
Paul Merson predicts Liverpool to win over Nottingham Forest.
Paul Merson has been looking forward to Nottingham Forest’s Premier League match against Liverpool at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The former Arsenal and Aston Villa player has stated that the game is difficult to predict and has supported Liverpool to win 2-1.
Forest are currently 17th in the Premier League table, with 24 points from 26 matches, four points ahead of third-bottom Luton Town, who have played 25 games.
Meanwhile, Liverpool presently leads the league table with 60 points from 26 games, a point ahead of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City.
Merson told SportsKeeda: “People may claim that Forest’s FA Cup exit is a blessing in disguise, but I disagree. Liverpool has a slew of injuries, and while a few young players appear on a regular basis, it may be a game too far for the youngsters.
“This is a tough game, but I believe Liverpool will have a number of veteran players back in the team, including Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo. I doubt Klopp will rush his key players back, especially with the Manchester City game coming up, but he’ll keep them on standby in case things don’t go as expected.
“Their young players have been great so far, but they cannot compete with Manchester City, with all due respect, so it remains to be seen how Klopp tackles this game in terms of selection. Nonetheless, I predict a Liverpool victory, but the Reds will face difficult challenges.
“Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Liverpool.”
