Morgan Gibbs-White has had another fantastic season for Nottingham Forest, and Peter Crouch has been shouting his praises.
Gibbs-White was a £42.5 million signing for Forest when they gained promotion back to the Premier League, and he has since excelled and became captain at the City Ground.
Of course, that form has sparked interest from other clubs. Tottenham are reported to be one of the teams interested in signing Gibbs-White, with commentators such as Tim Sherwood claiming he’d be a wonderful fit under Ange Postecoglou.
Speaking about Gibbs-White on his new podcast, former Tottenham striker Peter Crouch confessed he saw the Forest star coming a long time ago.
Peter Crouch says Morgan Gibbs-White is very impressive.
Crouch said on the latest episode of the That Peter Crouch Podcast that he first saw Gibbs-White in a pre-season game years ago.
“I’ve been talking about Morgan Gibbs White for years.” I recall playing against him for Wolves in preseason as a youngster and thinking he was a good player. They spent a lot of money on him, but I believe he is the major man there today. The fans adore him. He performed a feat the other day that had the spectators in awe. “He has a lot of talent,” Crouch stated.
Gibbs-White is superior than Forest.
That is not to denigrate the two-time European winners, but Morgan Gibbs-White has the potential to play for a higher-level team.
It’s unclear whether that team is Tottenham. If he joined Spurs right now, there’s a chance he wouldn’t even make the starting lineup.
However, Gibbs-White has demonstrated by his work ethic and everything else that comes with it that he is prepared to put in the effort to succeed.
Gibbs-White would be an excellent signing for Tottenham, and any Forest supporter would be disappointed to see him leave.
