‘Terrific’ player AWOL from the most recent Leeds United training video amid reports he is poised to quit

Leeds United’s most recent inside training video may have given away a big clue as to who will be the next to leave.

Leeds’ social media staff has posted video of Joe Rothwell’s first complete workout since arriving at Elland Road earlier this week.

Rothwell completed the formalities of his season-long loan move from Bournemouth on Thursday, so yesterday was his first opportunity to train with the rest of the club.

A whole pre-season under his belt might be incredibly beneficial to him fitting in at Leeds, with his debut appearance expected to come in a friendly against Harrogate Town on Friday.

In contrast, Leeds had no new acquisitions in their roster for the pre-season match last summer, which contributed significantly to their poor start to the season.

Glen Kamara is missing from Leeds’ newest inside training video.

Given the level of conjecture, Leeds could yet lose a lot of players between now and the season’s first game against Portsmouth.

Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto, and Georginio Rutter have all been connected with rival teams, although the club’s most recent YouTube video of ‘inner training’ shows them working hard at Thorp Arch.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Glen Kamara, despite reports from France last week that he has agreed to personal terms with Rennes.

Last night, Planet Sport stated that Kamara is expected to be the next player out of the Elland Road exit door, according to a’source’ close to Leeds.

And those claims may have simply been supported by the fact that Kamara was not seen at all in the Leeds training video from Friday.

Only time will tell if this was due to an injury he may have sustained or because he was finalising a transfer elsewhere.

Leeds’ stance on Kamara may have changed.

Journalists close to Leeds have often stated that they do not intend to sell the ‘terrific’ Kamara this summer.

Leeds have already lost one midfielder, Archie Gray, and losing another would leave them short, even with Rothwell on loan.

Leeds paid roughly £5 million to sign Kamara nearly a year ago, but a bid of around double that amount may be enough to entice them into making a profit.

Rothwell is not expected to be seen as a replacement for Kamara if he leaves, which seems increasingly likely.

Having said that, Leeds are now under pressure to bring in someone of great quality, given the money that has been spent this summer.
