Just eight seconds into the video, the Nottingham Forest duo were seen chuckling.
Williams may then be heard asking, “Worst haircut on the squad?” Before Awoniyi responds with “Harry Toffolo,” the Wales international parrots it, and the two erupt in laughter.
Brutal.
Toffolo, who joined in a £10 million double move from Huddersfield with Lewis O’Brien in July 2022, would have been taken aback by that statement if he had seen the footage, though we’re sure it was all just training ground banter.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad appears to be in good spirits, as numerous players can be seen laughing and joking around in the training footage.
That speaks much about what the Portuguese tactician has brought to the City Ground, as it would be easy for everyone to be down in the dumps given the stressful relegation battle and potential points deduction, especially after some poor refereeing recently.
Neco Williams provides an insider’s perspective on Nuno, who took on a challenging role at City Ground because to the fanbase’s admiration for Steve Cooper.
While the 50-year-old is unlikely to become as popular among supporters as the Welshman, he appears to be impressing the players, says Williams.
The Nottingham Forest No.7 told the club’s official website, “He’s very passionate about the players and the fans.” Fans may not notice because it occurs within our daily lives, but they may be unaware of how passionate he is.
“I’m really enjoying working with him at the minute, we have a close bond and I’m always looking to improve, so whenever I need any advice, I know his door is always open.”
