Nottingham Forest signed a superb player this summer, and he has pleased Kelvin Wilson during the 2023/24 season.

Forest has had a difficult season after surviving in the Premier League during their first season back.

Forest have had a number of judgments go against them, as well as four points removed and Steve Cooper sacked.

Fans will be delighted to see the end of the current season, but one summer signing has impressed Wilson.

Kelvin Wilson lauds ‘excellent’ Nottingham Forest deal.

After signing 30 players in their first summer back in the Premier League, Forest learned some valuable lessons last summer.

With the exception of the two goalkeepers who were signed, the majority of their permanent additions to the squad have had an impact.

Ola Aina has impressed Wilson at Forest.

He came on a free transfer after leaving Torino and has proven to be a valuable acquisition.

On Sunday, he faced Kyle Walker, and Wilson was really impressed with how well the Forest defender performed.

He told the Forest Focus podcast: “I felt he was amazing, and he was also outstanding defensively. I believe he has been very good defensively this season. I know some people criticize him, but he gets a seven or eight out of ten most weeks.

“I know he’s a little casual at times and appears to be walking, but he’s always pretty solid, doesn’t get beat, is terrific on the ball, and gets a lot of free kicks.

“On Sunday, to outpace Kyle Walker. Wow! I was thinking, ‘Is Kyle Walker injured here?’ yet he elevated his game against superior opponents.”
