Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool provided another memorable performance for England in their 3-1 victory over Finland.

Arne Slot has hailed Alexander-Arnold as’special’, with the Liverpool boss relying heavily on the right-back this season.

The academy graduate has impressed at both ends of the pitch, propelling the Reds to the top of the Premier League standings.

Alexander-Arnold is also having a fantastic run with England, playing an important role in their current Nations League campaign.

Interestingly, Three Lions interim manager Lee Carsley chose to play the defender as a left-back against Finland on Sunday.

English media delivers verdict on Liverpool sensation Trent Alexander-Arnold.

And the full-back did not disappoint, scoring a fantastic free kick in the 74th minute.

English national media have weighed in on his overall performance, with the Express giving him an 8/10, commenting: “Carsley’s latest experiment to try to solve England’s left-back problem. He appeared to be at ease and scored a fantastic free-kick to seal the victory.

The Standard agreed with the 8/10, writing: “Saw a lot of the ball as he drifted into midfield from an odd left-back position. “One of England’s best players on the night, finishing with a stunning free-kick.”

Meanwhile, The Independent gave Alexander-Arnold a 7/10, saying: “Enjoyed a fine night even before his magnificent free-kick to double England’s advantage.

“Starting at left-back for the first time in his career, Alexander-Arnold saw a lot of the ball and dominated England’s play from the left channel. He worked effectively with [Jude] Bellingham, [Jack] Grealish, and [Angel] Gomes, and the set-piece was a reminder of his talent.”

And Alexander-Arnold stood out more than any other Three Lions player in terms of the official Man of the Match award, which he won once more, according to England on X.

Liverpool fans want a new deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Worryingly, the defender is entering his final months with Liverpool, with his contract scheduled to expire next season.

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool fans want Alexander-Arnold to sign a new deal, but there have been few hints that this will happen.

He is an important player for the club both defensively and offensively, and his departure would be a huge blow to Slot.

Furthermore, losing a talent like Alexander-Arnold for free next summer would be unimaginable for Liverpool fans.

Agreeing on a new deal with the England star should now be a priority for Liverpool’s management, but supporter anxiety will only grow as the wait continues.
