Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive, as Steve Cooper discusses his management return at Leicester City.
Steve Cooper feels that Leicester City is the ideal “next chapter” following Nottingham Forest.
The former Reds manager is hoping to revive his managerial career with the Foxes after taking over at the King Power Stadium six months after being fired by Evangelos Marinakis. He has signed a three-year contract with Leicester to lead them back into the Premier League, after being linked with a number of positions since leaving the City Ground.
“I’m really excited, it’s a brilliant challenge,” Cooper said of his new club. “I’m really excited to get started with it. I am extremely driven for my next challenge, which I am fortunate to have at Leicester City.
“My next chapter had to be perfect, and I needed to feel like I was doing the right thing, and this feels like it. Finally, it is about the job that you perform, how the team plays, the outcomes that you achieve, and how you approach it.
“That is the nature of the game, namely our game. Of course, you want to execute it in a certain way that aligns with the values of the club. It’s the same for all managers. That is my current challenge, and I am fully dedicated to giving it my all for this football club in the hopes that we may achieve success together.
“I’m in a personal position where I’m very hungry and motivated, and I’m just grateful to have this challenge. My next task will be really crucial, and I can’t wait to get started at a club like this.”
