The newest edition of Gold and Guest Talk Our Tottenham journalists examine what could happen in the final few days of the transfer market, as well as look ahead to the Brentford encounter.

It is a huge week at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the January transfer window closes, and Ange Postecoglou’s club has two games on the schedule. Tottenham have an opportunity to bounce back immediately after their narrow FA Cup defeat to Manchester City on Friday evening when they host Brentford at home.

Three days later, the Lilywhites will travel north to play Everton at Goodison Park. Those two games are sandwiched either side of the January transfer deadline, which is at 11 p.m. on Thursday, February 1.

Tottenham have already made their mark in the winter transfer market by signing two players, but fans will be hoping for at least one more before the window closes. One player who won’t be joining Spurs is Norwegian ace Antonio Nusa.

The highly-rated kid is set to join the Premier League, but he will spend the next few years playing for Brentford. Nusa and his supporters have their reasons for selecting Brentford over Spurs, which our Tottenham correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest examine in the most recent episode of their podcast Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham.

Along with Nusa’s move to west London, the rest of the January transfer window and whether Spurs will be able to complete another deal is a major topic of discussion. Aside from the club’s transfer activities in the coming days, on-field issues are discussed following the 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Manchester City and the next match against Brentford.
