Sources tell Football Insider that Nottingham Forest may be forced to trade Murillo this summer.
Speaking on the current episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke warned that the Reds may have to sanction player sales due to uncertainties over their earnings and sustainability.
It is claimed that “a lot of clubs” in England and throughout Europe are keeping an eye on the centre-back following his outstanding season at the City Ground.
He joined Forest for a reputed £15 million from Brazilian club Corinthians last summer, but insiders tell Football Insider that the Reds hope to make a “huge profit” if he is sold this summer.
Murillo, the Nottingham Forest star, is likely to leave after only one season?
The Brazilian has been a regular for Forest this season, starting every game in the Premier League since his arrival.
While Forest has struggled on and off the field this season, most notably receiving a four-point deduction for a PSR violation, they have a solid roster full of high-value players.
They are anticipated to approve player sales by June 30, the deadline for clubs to file their financial statements, which means that several first-team players may depart.
Football Insider reported (12 April) that the club may be obliged to accept an offer for striker Chris Wood this summer.
Morgan Gibbs-White might also be sacrificed, with Football Insider reporting (1 April) that Tottenham and Newcastle United will have to pay upwards of £50 million to sign him this summer.
Nottingham Forest are 17th in the Premier League rankings following their 2-2 draw with Wolves on Saturday afternoon (April 13).
They return to action against 16th-place Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon (April 21).
