Sky Sports journalist offers the latest update on the ‘rising star’ striker that Leeds want to recruit

Leeds United began their Championship campaign with a 3-3 draw against Portsmouth at Elland Road.

It was a disappointing result, and it will almost definitely prompt the board to enter the summer transfer market in search of additional offensive reinforcements.

Leeds have yet to replace Crysencio Summerville since his departure to West Ham, despite efforts to sign Jonathan Rowe.

Now, a new update on an attacking target has emerged.

Leeds target Daniel Jebbison will be loaned.

Leeds were linked with striker Daniel Jebbison early in the transfer window, before he left Sheffield United for Bournemouth.

Despite his recent arrival on the south coast, Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie reports that he is expected to leave on loan this summer.

Sunderland appear to be the most interested party at this point, but Downie insists that they have yet to make a move for the 21-year-old.

This could open the door for Leeds, who have the ‘coming star’ (One Football) on their transfer list.

    Leeds should consider Tom Cannon.

Instead of Jebbison, Leeds might pursue Leicester City striker Tom Cannon, who is expected to be available for a loan move this summer.

The former Everton forward had a successful tenure with Preston North End during the 2022/23 Championship season, but despite a £7.5 million transfer, he was unable to get into Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup.

Steve Cooper plainly does not view Cannon as part of his plans, so Leeds should attempt to sign him since he would be a great fit for Farke. The Irishman is remarkably similar to Teemu Puku, who thrived under the German management.
