Sam Parkin praised Wilfried Gnonto as “incredible” for his movement leading up to his goal in Leeds United’s 4-0 victory over Swansea.
The Italy international assisted Joel Piroe as the Dutch striker made it 2-0 inside 10 minutes following Crysencio Summerville’s deflected opener, and then scored himself with a superb strike before halftime to make it 3-0.
And, commenting to the goal while commentating for Sky Sports Arena (13 February, 20:22), Parkin stated that the movement was what made the goal possible, despite the tricky finish.

However, after news broke that the player was close to signing a new contract, and James was unfortunately injured, Gnonto has gone from strength to strength, demonstrating why Leeds fans and management were desperate to keep him last summer.
He appears to be considerably more confident than he has been all season, and his talent in front of goal and in the final third is beginning to shine through, making him part of one of the Championship’s most successful assaults.
If he can maintain this form, there is no reason why he should not hold his spot in the team once James is fully fit again, but having depth and options is ideal for Daniel Farke as we enter a busy phase of the season.
