Burnley are expected to be right up there with Leeds United in the race for promotion from the Championship next season, and Scott Parker is now vying for an £8 million deal.

Leeds’ defeat to Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium means they will remain in the second division for another season. Burnley have returned to the Championship after being relegated from the Premier League in just one season.

Burnley will have a new appearance, with Vincent Kompany leaving and Scott Parker taking over as manager. Leeds interviewed Parker prior to the appointment of Daniel Farke.

Parker has a lot of work to do at Turf Moor as he attempts to get a few players out before bringing in some new faces, and one of the players he wants to recruit is also on Leeds’ radar.

Liverpool prepares to cash in on Burnley and Leeds target.

Nat Phillips, who was described as “unbelievable” by Jamie Redknapp during his time in Liverpool’s first team, is slated to leave the club this summer. It follows loan spells with Celtic and Cardiff last season.

Parker wants to join Burnley after previously been linked with Leeds, according to The Athletic. Even though Joe Rodon has been signed on a permanent basis, the Whites are still interested in signing the strong defender.

Farke has long admired Phillips, having discovered him on loan at Stuttgart and attempted to lure him to Norwich. According to the report, Liverpool wants up to £8 million.

Trabzonspor conversations reveal Liverpool eager to cut the price tag.

According to the report, Trabzonspor’s bid for Phillips was refused. However, rumors in Turkey indicate that Liverpool was willing to cut their asking price for the defender to as low as £5 million in order to sell.

Leeds and Burnley would be getting a great deal on a defender who is undoubtedly one of the finest at his level. He demonstrated this during loans to Cardiff last season and Bournemouth.

Whether Leeds believe it is necessary to spend additional money on another right-sided central defender remains to be seen, having done so in order to bring Rodon back to Elland Road on a permanent basis from Spurs.
