Ross McCormack posted a three-word comment on social media after witnessing footage of Leeds United star Archie Gray’s performance for England’s under-21s.
The 18-year-old scored his first goal for the U-21s in a 5-1 win over Azerbaijan U-21s on Friday (March 22).
When the Three Lions’ official Instagram page shared a video of the Whites academy product scoring his goal, McCormack commented with “superb young man”.
Archie Gray, Leeds United’s standout player, is experiencing exciting times.
Gray has had an amazing season so far, securing a starting berth in the Leeds team and performing admirably on the international stage.
The midfielder, who has spent much of this season playing at right-back for the Whites, has now appeared for four different England age groups in the last year.
His current call-up demonstrates how much the Three Lions value him, as he was quickly promoted to the U-21s team for their most recent games.
The teenager will be hoping that his impressive cameo off the bench might help him earn more minutes when they face Luxembourg on March 26.
Daniel Farke will be keeping a close check on his progress over the next several days, hoping he returns from international duty fit and healthy as he attempts to help his team win promotion this season.
