Nottingham Forest have always had at least one academy product in their first-team squad, but Ryan Yates is presently the only one.
Nuno Espirito Santo hasn’t shied away from rotating his lineup and giving younger players an opportunity, as evidenced by Zach Abbott’s Carabao Cup appearance.
Paul Taylor was quite impressed with Abbott’s performance in the cup, which has lined him up for a potential FA Cup appearance.
Ryan Yates understands what it takes to get through the academy and into the first team at Nottingham Forest.
David Prutton, who is from the academy and understands the club, believes Yates is a youngster who genuinely wants to be a Nottingham Forest player.
Nottingham Forest, having witnessed his ascent to success, have devised a unique plan for young players.
Nottingham Forest has a special program for a few players.
Brennan Johnson is another player who has set a standard for future players. His move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer exemplifies what’s possible when you seize opportunities.
However, Nottingham Forest is currently competing with Tottenham Hotspur, and they have a strong draw and strength of their own, with many talents born at the City Ground.
Interestingly, observing Ryan Yates and Johnson’s ascent has prompted the club to build a particular program aimed at nurturing a select group of special talents.
According to the Athletic, players who are identified as having the potential to become future stars are put through a unique program to help them get to the first team.
Craig Mulholland said this.
“We have something called the ‘TPPP’ (talented player performance plan).
“Some athletes will be recognized as high-potential talents. It is our responsibility to truly push them. If the next Brennan Johnson emerges, we must speed his learning. We delve deeper.
“A personalized performance dashboard displays key areas such as psychology, nutrition, performance, coaching, health and wellness, analysis, and pathway.
“These reports will demonstrate if there are any areas where we need to push that kid to ensure he becomes a first-team player.
“We provide wellness questionnaires every morning, and the players wear Oura Rings that measure their heart rate. We monitor their stress and anxiety levels 24 hours a day.
“They download that every night and our psychologist and wellbeing team can monitor it and see, for example, if a player is not sleeping well before games.”
Ryan Yates’ season to date with Nottingham Forest
Ryan Yates may still be haunting Enzo Fernandez’s nightmares after interrogating him on Sunday when Nottingham Forest visited Stamford Bridge.

Nuno Espirito Santo has entrusted him with unofficially leading this team, and he performs an excellent job, with Yates’ rallying appeal before the Liverpool game working wonderfully.
Because he isn’t always engaged in goals or assists, his contributions are often overlooked. He’s in charge of breaking up plays and doing the dirty work for his team.
Every team needs Ryan Yates.
