The nine-day gap between matches has finally given Leeds United the opportunity to rest and heal.
The Whites have just completed an extremely demanding run of games and, for the first time since a 2-1 victory over Preston North End on January 21, will have a full week to prepare.
Many of Daniel Farke’s team were forced to play with bumps and bruises last week, but Leeds were only missing four players for last Friday’s triumph over Sheffield Wednesday.
Jaidon Anthony was absent due to personal circumstances but could return soon, Stuart Dallas is approaching two years on the sidelines, and Pascal Struijk is nearing the end of his recovery.
Following Anthony’s excellent news, Leeds Live is claiming that Jamie Shackleton will be in contention to play his former side Millwall at Elland Road.
Shackleton likely to return against Millwall
Shackleton has not played since the FA Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle at the end of January, due to a number of minor injuries.
The ‘underrated’ 24-year-old was supposed to start for Chelsea last month, but he became ill in the hotel before kickoff, which led to concussion symptoms.
Shackleton has had to follow the protocols associated with recovering from such an injury, which caused him to miss all of Leeds’ last three league games last week.
However, with so much time to prepare between Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall, Leeds Live believes Shackleton should be back in contention for a spot in the team.
Shackleton hasn’t always made the bench for Leeds this season, but his return gives Farke another option.
