Nottingham Forest will try to sign certain players this month while the transfer window is open, while others may leave the City Ground.
Chris Wood has been connected with Besiktas this month, although it appears doubtful that he will leave with 12 goals to his name in 2024-25.
Other players are expected to go this month, but Forest will want to keep the best players who have led the squad to third position at the club.
With the squad already well-stocked, it appears that any new players who join will have to come at the expense of current squad members leaving.
Willy Boly, a Forest defender, is desired in a surprise EFL transfer.
According to Africa Foot, EFL clubs are interested in signing the centre-back this month, with Hull City and Millwall leading the chase.
Boly is expected to leave the club on loan this month, and with his contract expiring in the summer, he will most likely move for free.
Intriguingly, contract talks with Boly appear to have stagnated, with Forest looking anxious to keep him for another year.
That seems surprising given that Boly has been the fourth-choice center defense this season – though he did play some minutes against Everton last time out.
Hull and Millwall have completely different objectives for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
The Tigers are attempting to keep their heads above water and remain in the Championship, while Millwall will seek to make a late push to break into the play-off places.
Boly has proven to be a devoted servant to Forest since signing in 2022.
Ruben Neves described Boly as ‘excellent’ while at Wolves, and he’s proven to be a steal for £2.5 million from a Forest perspective.
His signing sparked some interest, with Boly coming as the transfer window closed in the summer of 2022.
Boly has made 41 appearances for the Reds, scoring three goals, and he always gives his all when called upon.
With the defender now 33 years old and falling down the pecking order at Forest, keeping him around seems a bit pointless.
Moving to the Championship would be an intriguing move for him, but any club in that tier that signs Boly would be receiving a huge coup from Forest.
