In his blog on GiveMeSport, journalist Dean Jones disclosed that Tottenham Hotspur is in talks with Brighton about incorporating a buy option in any loan move for Bryan Gil.
The Daily Mail claimed on Tuesday that Spurs and the Seagulls have began conversations over a potential loan deal for Gil.
According to the source, the Lilywhites were willing to sanction a temporary move for the winger, while Nottingham Forest also expressed interest in the Spaniard.
Bryan Gil is set to sign a longer-term deal with Brighton
Jones has now confirmed that talks between Tottenham and Brighton are ‘continuing’, with the two clubs ‘exploring the finer elements of the trade’.
According to the journalist, the two parties will also debate whether it may ‘become a longer-term deal’ for the 22-year-old.
He admits that Gil does not fit into Ange Postecoglou’s plans at Tottenham, which is why the North London club is willing to let him go permanently.
Finally, Jones adds that Forest, Burnley, and Fiorentina have shown an interest in signing Gil before the 11 p.m. deadline.
