Leeds United has a number of players whose contracts will expire this summer, and the Whites appear to have made a decision on the future of one defender.
Decisions must be made about players like as Sam Byram, Jamie Shackleton, and Liam Cooper who are currently on the Leeds squad. Cooper hopes to prolong his presence at Elland Road beyond ten years.
Stuart Dallas has reaffirmed his desire to retire when his contract expires. Luke Ayling, Cody Drameh, and Ian Poveda are out of contract in the summer and will continue on loan at Championship clubs.
Ayling is at Middlesbrough, and Poveda is at Sheffield Wednesday; both loans are likely to be permanent. Robin Koch has done just that, securing a permanent move to German club Eintracht Frankfurt.
Lew Bate is expected to leave Leeds after impressing at MK Dons in League Two, and the Yorkshire Evening Post provides an update on 22-year-old Drameh, who has been with Birmingham City this season.

Surprisingly, Drameh has only played 10 occasions for Leeds’ senior team. Instead, he has spent this season on loan at Cardiff, Luton, and Birmingham, marking his first full year away from Elland Road.
Drameh, who won Player of the Season during a half-year loan spell in Wales, joined Luton for the second half of last season and helped Rob Edwards’ side reach the Premier League play-offs.
This season, he began brightly with Birmingham City but struggled to maintain that form in the second part of the campaign. Injury has limited Drahem to only 30 appearances this season.
Certainly not enough to get a new contract with Leeds, as the YEP reports that Drameh is expected to be dismissed by the club. Drameh is scheduled to go on a free transfer, with clubs expected to be keen.

Marcelo Bielsa, who joined Cardiff on loan from Leeds in January 2022, was critical of the right back. He disagreed with Drameh’s decision to leave Elland Road on loan and questioned his decision to “abandon” Leeds.
According to The Mail, Bielsa remarked, “Clearly, I calculated things wrong. What I consider a tremendous opportunity, individuals who gain from that position decide to leave the club in search of another competition.”
Drameh feels like he’s been at Leeds for years, but it appears that the defender will be leaving Elland Road. Following Birmingham’s relegation, it is uncertain where Drameh will play this summer.
