Nottingham Forest are still looking for a new striker before the transfer window closes on Friday.

Santiago Gimenez could return to Forest, according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims the club isn’t ready to walk away yet.

Eddie Nketiah is one player who is not on the table, as the 25-year-old is likely to join Crystal Palace from Arsenal.

With only a few days remaining in the transfer season, Forest appear to be ratcheting up their efforts to sign a new striker.

It appears that the club will get someone across the line, but it remains to be seen who.

Nottingham Forest wants Brian Brobbey from Ajax.

Forest are obviously looking to target strikers in the Eredivisie this summer, with Brobbey now on their shortlist.

According to Pete O’Rourke, the Reds are turning their attention to Brobbey as Gimenez’s situation appears to be fragile.

Brobbey scored 23 goals for Ajax last season, albeit a disappointing season by their standards.

At 22 years old, he fits the profile of a player Forest has been attempting to sign, which suggests that the club will stick to their guns.

Brobbey came up through the Amsterdam Arena’s development program and has spent time on loan with RB Leipzig during his career.

In 124 games for Ajax, he has 49 goals and 19 assists, with a move to a prominent European league appearing likely at some point.

The former Forest striker is widely regarded as one of the best attackers to have ever played for the Reds, and he is well aware of Brobbey’s abilities.

When Brobbey first appeared on the scene a few years back, he enthused about the player’s striker abilities and believes he has tremendous potential.

He told Ghana Soccernet, “Because he is so fast and muscular, he was really troublesome to the defenders and dangerous for Ajax. “He is a true striker.”

This obviously bodes well, and his speed suggests that Forest will acquire the striker they are looking for.

Nuno Espirito Santo requires someone who can run in behind and create opportunities for himself, and Brobbey appears to be the perfect fit for Forest.

The Forest striker quest appears to have many twists and turns, and Brobbey is a striker who the fan base may grow to like.
