Nottingham Forest are stepping up their efforts to sign new players ahead of Monday night’s transfer deadline.
Forest’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, is looking for a new striker. A number of players have been linked with a move to the City Ground, and speculation persists as the deadline approaches.
Yoane Wisse has been linked to Forest this month. He has 11 goals for Brentford this season, and it seems unlikely that the Reds would be able to finalize the deal during the current transfer window.
Matheus Cunha is another player whom Forest likes. He faces an uncertain future at Wolves, with the 25-year-old negotiating a new contract on Trentside and clubs watching his availability.
Forest do not appear to be looking solely for a new striker, however. Nuno Espirito Santo will seek to bolster his team this month, and another part of the pitch might be boosted before Monday.
Douglas Luiz is now eager to make a Premier League move.
According to Bola VIP, Luiz is eager to return to the Premier League from Juventus this month in order to re-join the Brazil national team.
Luiz just moved to Turin this summer, after the Old Lady paid £42.5 million to sign him from Aston Villa.
However, the player has struggled with Juventus. He’s only made nine appearances and has since lost his place on the international stage, which has left him upset.
According to the source, Manchester City only wants to sign Luiz on a loan. Forest, on the other hand, are planning to make a substantial offer to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis.
Forest don’t have a shortage of central midfielders. However, with Ibrahim Sangare still out injured, a new number six could be on the cards.
Luiz would be an excellent addition to the Forest squad.
Forget about Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez; if Luiz signs, he may immediately displace both of them and establish himself as a regular in the Forest starting lineup.
The Brazilian is an excellent player who helped Aston Villa finish in the top four last season. He may prefer a move to City over Forest, but if they do not move before the deadline, it appears he is open to a City Ground transfer.
Luiz was a surprise departure at Villa over the summer. What’s more unexpected is that he’s already on the move from Juventus, who consider him surplus.
The 26-year-old is an upgrade on any other number six at Forest and as a result, his presence would almost definitely be welcomed across the board on Trentside.
