Report: Nottingham Forest offer four-year contract to £40,000-per-week standout who amazed Ian Wright

Nottingham Forest has a strong group of players for the 2024/25 season, and there have been several standout performances so far this season.

The Reds are unbeaten this season, with two wins and two draws, including a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.

One of the top performers against Liverpool came from Forest star Ola Aina and Ian Wright praised him for his efforts afterwards.

He switched over to right-back for the Anfield visit, with Alex Moreno coming in at left-back for his maiden Premier League start for Forest.

Aina signed for Forest on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 and he looks like a very shrewd piece of business as a freebie.

Nottingham Forest plan to extend Ola Aina’s contract.

According to All Nigeria Soccer, Forest is currently preparing to sign Aina to a new contract at the City Ground.

In the summer, Aina was rewarded with a contract for his efforts last season but was only given a one-year extension.

Now, it’s claimed that Aina will be handed four-year offer as the club bids to keep him at the club ahead of his best years.

The Nigeria international is 27 now and Forest clearly want to keep Aina in their defence for longer than the current campaign.

Aina has struggled with injury issues and in total, he’s made 26 appearances for Forest, scoring once in a 2-0 win over Aston Villa last season.

Aina contract is a requirement for Forest.

Given that the club signed him for free, Forest must protect their asset and keep Aina at Trentside for the foreseeable future.

A four-year deal brings him into his thirties, and he has more than earned an extension to his current Forest contract.

Hopefully, this one can be finished fast. The celebrations following the Liverpool game showed a player clearly happy at Forest, and it’s difficult to envisage him turning down the offers.

Aina gets £40,000 per week at Forest, although he’s far from the highest-paid player at the City Ground.
