Report: Nottingham Forest has just entered the race to sign a ‘exceptional’ Brazilian player

Nottingham Forest has entered the hunt to acquire another Brazilian this summer, but faces stiff competition.

Now that the summer transfer window has opened, Forest may boost their squad, which narrowly avoided relegation last season.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team was able to avoid the drop on the final day of the season, indicating that major work needs to be done over the summer.

Although the opportunity has only recently opened, Forest is seeking to close some agreements quickly, with departures required before June 30th.

The City Ground will require player sales in the coming weeks, with Forest needing to create some revenue from player sales.

However, Evangelos Marinakis is hoping to bring in another Brazilian, so there is still a focus on potential acquisitions.

Forest is hoping to add another Brazilian to their roster.

Nuno’s squad now includes several Brazilians who play important roles at the club.

Murillo and Danilo have established themselves at the City Ground, with Murillo currently valued about £70 million by the Reds.

Murillo is one of the players that could be sold this summer for a large profit after signing only last year.

Forest, on the other hand, appears to be aiming to expand the Brazilian squad, with a new right-back on the radar as a potential summer acquisition.

According to RTI Esporte, Forest are one among the teams interested in signing Monaco right-back Vanderson.

Napoli is thought to be the most proactive in its pursuit of the 22-year-old right-back, with an offer expected in the coming days.

Monaco is reportedly seeking €15 million (£12.5 million) for the defender, who is also being pursued by Spanish club Sevilla this summer.

Forest could locate top-quality Neco Williams alternatives in Vanderson.

Vanderson made 20 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco in 2023/24, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

This is still a young player, as the 22-year-old has completed his third season in Europe after moving from Gremio in Brazil.

Philippe Clement, the current Rangers and former Monaco manager, has already heaped admiration on the Brazilian.

“He adapted exceptionally well here [2021/22]. We have previously talked about it. He is also a player who has and continues to intrigue a number of major teams, he informed the GFFN.

“That can possibly do something to the mindset, not that he didn’t have his feet on the ground, but Vanderson is very ambitious and a huge perfectionist.”

Vanderson is not the only Brazilian Forest target this summer; Nuno’s team is also said to be close to signing Carlos Miguel from Corinthians.
