Report: Liverpool can now sign a ‘world class’ defender for £50 million this summer

Liverpool are looking for a new centre-back, although they have yet to sign one.

Leny Yoro was highly linked with a move to Liverpool before joining Manchester United, and Fabrizio Romano claims the Merseyside club is working on a new defensive addition.

There have been several fresh recruits connected with a transfer to Anfield, including Goncalo Inacio, but there has been no activity thus far.

Willian Pacho was linked with a move to Liverpool earlier this summer, and The Independent reports that the Reds are still interested in signing the Bundesliga star.

Liverpool still interested in Willian Pacho.

According to this source, Liverpool remains interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Willian Pacho.

The ‘world-class’ defender is reportedly available for £50 million this summer.

Pacho appears to be one of Europe’s most promising young defenders right now, but he will not come cheap, with a price tag of £50 million.

Willian Pacho will be a gamble.

Spending £50 million on Willian Pacho would be a significant risk.

The Ecuador international appears to be a prospect, but at this juncture, it’s difficult to put all of your eggs in one basket.

He’s only spent one season in a top five league, and while he looked fantastic in the Bundesliga last season, the sample size is far too tiny for a club like Liverpool to consider this move.

The Reds should go with a more established defensive option.

A player like Marc Guehi has been linked with a move to Anfield for some time, and he would be an ideal solution to the Reds’ present defensive problems.

Pacho has the potential to be a valuable player for a club like Liverpool, but he would also be a significant risk.
