Liverpool may need to acquire a new attacking player this summer.
Indeed, while the Reds’ frontline is currently stocked with talent, some of their key players’ futures remain uncertain.
Mohamed Salah is still being connected with a move to Saudi Arabia, while Luis Diaz has been linked with a move away from Anfield too.
Fortunately, it appears like Liverpool is exploring the market for new attacking alternatives, with the club reportedly leading the hunt for one of Europe’s most promising forwards.
Liverpool leads the Rodrygo race.
According to Mundo Deportivo, half of the Premier League wants Rodrygo from Real Madrid, but Liverpool is leading the battle to recruit him.
The Brazilian has established himself as a star at the Santiago Bernabeu in recent years, but he may now have to make way for greater names.
Indeed, with Kylian Mbappe and Endrick expected to arrive this summer, Madrid may need to trade one of their attacking alternatives, with Rodrygo being the most likely candidate to depart.
With Liverpool perhaps preparing for life after Mohamed Salah, this move for the South American might make a lot of sense.
Rodrygo is thought to be superior than Mohamed Salah.
Rodrygo is an excellent player, but replacing someone like Salah would be a monumental task.
However, Troy Deeney believes Rodrygo is more than capable of doing the job.
Indeed, Deeney told ESPN in March that he believes Rodrygo is a greater player than Salah.
“Rodrygo or Grealish?” Deeney was asked.
“Rodrygo,” Deeney answered.
“Rodrygo, or Salah? Deeney was asked.
“Oh, Rodrygo,” Deeney commented.
Of course, Rodrygo doesn’t have as amazing a scoring record as Salah, but the fact that this conversation is even possible demonstrates how talented a player he is.
If Liverpool can pull this off, they will have a terrific player, and it is surely a position to watch.
