Leeds United are expected to try to sign one or two players before the January transfer window closes, but their search for a midfielder has been hampered.

Daniel Farke wants three new additions at Leeds United: a centre-back, a no.10, and a striker. Following Monday’s draw with Burnley, Farke hinted to a new signing at Elland Road.

Nothing has happened, but players continue to be linked with a move to Leeds. Leeds are said to have inquired about signing Newcastle United’s Matt Targett, while another Englishman has been linked.

West Ham and four other Premier League teams are taking action.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has 18 months left on his contract with Besiktas, is expected to want to return to England. Given that he signed for free from Liverpool, he is unlikely to cost much money.

Omedyam, a Turkish source, reports that Leeds will face competition from five Premier League clubs. West Ham United, led by Crysencio Summerville, are leading the charge to sign the 35-time England midfielder.

Former Liverpool and Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a target for Leeds. The 31-year-old is presently playing in Turkey with Besiktas, where he has made only six appearances in 2024-25.

According to reports, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Nottingham Forest, and Wolves are all’making bids’ for Oxlade-Chamberlain. Leeds icon James Milner has already praised this player.

What Graeme Bailey has told us about Oxlade-Chamberlain

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken over at Besiktas, and the Norwegian handed Oxlade-Chamberlain only his second start of the season on Sunday. On Sunday afternoon, there was a 1-1 draw with SuperLiga side Antalyasor.

Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that Solskjaer wishes to keep Oxlade-Chamberlain. So much so, that Bailey feels Oxlade-Chamberlain is going nowhere before the end of the January transfer season.

However, every player has a price, and while Solskjaer wants to keep him, Oxlade-Chamberlain may choose to leave. It may necessitate a move, particularly with the current interest in the versatile Englishman.
