Report: Fulham reject £6.75 million bid for ‘remarkable’ new Leeds United target

Fulham have had a £6.75 million deal rejected for a player rumoured to be on Leeds United’s radar ahead of the summer transfer season, but they are preparing a second offer.

Leeds are looking for new wingers this summer, after Jaidon Anthony returned to Bournemouth following his loan spell at Elland Road. Half of the Premier League’s clubs want to recruit Crysencio Summerville.

Fulham, Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and even James Milner’s Brighton have all been linked with a move for Summerville in the previous week.

Willy Gnonto is another player slated to leave Elland Road in the coming months, with Inter Milan reportedly interested in signing him in order to bring in a homegrown ace to help with Champions League registration.

Without Gnonto, Summerville, and Anthony, Leeds would only have Dan James as an out wide option. Ian Poveda is also set to leave the club on a free transfer, as his contract at Elland Road expires on June 30.

Fulham’s bid of £6.75 million for the new Leeds target has been rejected. Silas, a DR Congo international, has recently gained interest from Leeds United. The Stuttgart wide man had a successful 2023-24 season, although only starting nine of his 30 matches.

He scored 13 goals and competed in the African Cup of Nations. Leeds were identified last week as one of five clubs interested in signing Silas this summer, along with Fulham, Villarreal, Lens, and Auxerre.

According to Caught Offside, Marco Silva’s Fulham have had a £6.75 million deal for Silas rejected. According to reports, the London club is set to make a second approach for Silas worth £12.5 million.

‘Remarkable’ account of Silas playing under a fictitious name initially.

Silas began playing at Stuttgart under the name Silas Wamangituka, claiming to be a year older than he was. However, in 2021, he revealed his true age and introduced himself as Silas Katompa Mvumpa.

The big man’s “remarkable” narrative surfaced a few years ago, and he is now joyfully toying with all of his true information in public. His argument was that he feared for his own and his family’s safety.

Silas’ chances of signing for Leeds appear minimal, given that the club is competing for his services with top-tier clubs such as Fulham and Villarreal. But it could come down to game time.
