Report: Club willing to ‘step up’ interest in ‘excellent’ Leeds player, who is keen on the move

Leeds United’s resolve is likely to be tested again this summer.

The 49ers have already approved one significant sale in Archie Gray, but they are now in a tricky situation in which they want to retain the squad as strong as possible while keeping everyone pleased.

Leeds are no longer forced to sell for PSR reasons, but this does not mean that interest in their players will cease.

Despite missing out on promotion, Leeds had one of the division’s youngest and most talented squads last season, so it’s no wonder that a few of its players are garnering high-level interest.

However, as previously stated, they will not be forced to sell anyone, and any remaining important exits will be completed on their own terms.

Wilfried Gnonto and Everton update shared

In his post-match interview following Wednesday’s friendly win over Hannover, Daniel Farke brought up the topic of transfers once more.

Farke not only revealed his intention to bolster both central midfield and full-back, but he also spoke about the futures of Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville.

Gnonto is still connected with a move to Everton, while Summerville is attracting interest from all over Europe, and both players could leave.

And Leeds may be ready to face a significant test of their determination to keep the former, with iNews saying Everton are set to’step up’ their interest.

Everton have almost completed a loan deal for Napoli’s Jesper Lindstrom, but he is not the only wideman they want to add; Gnonto is next on the list.

Everton are thought to have money to spend after selling Amadou Onana to Aston Villa for £50 million, but a deal for Gnonto is expected to be tricky, and they will not overpay.

What is Gnonto’s stance on the move to Everton?

Gnonto, like 12 months ago, is interested in a move to Merseyside as he prepares to return to the Premier League.

The ‘brilliant’ Gnonto tried everything he could to force a move last summer, but was unsuccessful, and despite his desire to leave again, he will not take such drastic measures.

Farke said Gnonto has had a great mentality on the training field this preseason, so if he stays, his performance on the pitch should not suffer.
