Report: Chelsea considers intriguing concept for ‘quality’ £10.4 million Nottingham Forest player

Nottingham Forest are under pressure to sell one of their key players this month in order to comply with the most recent PSR cycle.

Last season, Forest received a four-point reduction because they exceeded the permissible number of losses.

Since the end of the 2023/24 season, other clubs have expressed interest in a number of players.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been linked with Tottenham, and at under £3 million, he would have made a significant profit.

Morgan Gibbs-White has also been linked with a move away from Forest, with West Ham and Tottenham expressing interest in him.

Then there is Murillo. The Brazilian defender is being courted by a number of clubs, and at £10.4 million, he would be a significant cash cow in terms of profits.

A Premier League team has expressed strong interest in a Forest player, according to recent reports.

Chelsea now wants Forest defender Murillo.

According to UOL in Brazil, Chelsea are considering a move to sign Murillo during the summer season.

However, there is no hint of a serious bid, as Blues struggle to match the £55 million asking price.

The Blues are thinking about making a smaller offer and incorporating one or two players in the deal to sign the Forest man.

According to the report, while a number of clubs are interested in Murillo, the asking price is deterring them.

Atletico Madrid made touch with Forest but were unable to meet the criteria, while Liverpool has also been connected.

Chelsea is once again active in the market, and it remains to be seen what kind of compromise they will reach.

Murillo only cost Forest £10.4 million, so anything they can get for him would be a huge profit.

Forest needs to prepare for life after Murillo.

Getting something done before the deadline this month seems unlikely, but keeping Murillo appears to be a thankless endeavor.

Finally, Forest must plan for life after Murillo, and fortunately, there are some substitute options.

The defender was in excellent form for Forest last season, collecting the club’s Player of the Year award after a string of standout performances.

As a left-sided defender, Forest has every right to demand a high price for Murillo, who is ultimately the star attraction on Trentside.

Chelsea supplying players could help Forest’s players, but they must be the correct players, not cast-offs.

If the Blues are going to offer two in the deal, at least one of them must be one of their best young players, given that they will be taking a potential kid away from Forest.

In October, Jamie Redknapp praised Murillo’s performance against Crystal Palace, calling him ‘class’.

This agreement appears to be intriguing, and it will be worth keeping an eye on in the following days and weeks.
