Report: £3.8 million. The Leeds United player’s entourage now anticipate him to quit Elland Road this summer

Leeds United are close to sealing their sixth permanent sale of the summer, with Glen Kamara joining Rennes, but one player’s entourage believes he will also go.

Following the sales of Archie Gray, Kris Klaesson, Marc Roca, Diego Llorente, and Charlie Cresswell, Kamara is next in line, with a physical scheduled for Tuesday at Rennes ahead of an £8.5 million move to France.

Kamara’s departure is somewhat surprising given that Leeds only signed the Finnish star from Rangers a year ago. However, it implies instant profit for Leeds, which, in the perspective of Profit & Sustainability, is only good news.

More sales are expected, with Crysencio Summerville believed to be ‘weighing up his future’ amid interest from Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa before of a probable £40 million exit from Elland Road this summer.

But there could be more than just Summerville, with one player’s agency expecting him to leave:

Illan Meslier has been linked with a move to Marseille in France, while Junior Firpo is in the final year of his contract and ‘anticipated’ to leave. Even Patrick Bamford and Joel Piroe are thought to have admirers in foreign teams.

However, one player’s entourage, Willy Gnonto, is expecting a move. Newcastle and Everton are among the clubs interested after Nottingham Forest made a £16.9 million approach, which has since gone cold.

As the summer window approaches its end, Gnonto is gaining popularity. According to TeamTalk, Gnonto is eager to leave Leeds for a Premier League team this summer, and his entourage anticipates his departure.

Leeds wants at least £25 million for Gnonto, a massive profit in the view of PSR.

One aspect of Profit & Sustainability Rules is that profits earned from players allow funds to be spent more freely. Gray’s move to Tottenham was pure profit, as he was a Thorp Arch academy product at Leeds.

Gnonto was purchased for £3.8 million from Swiss club Zurich, and TeamTalk claims Leeds want at least £25 million for the winger. While it would not represent 100% profit like Gray, it would be a significant profit if sold.

Of all, £25 million is a lofty goal for a player who struggled to live up to his massive hype during the 2023-24 season. However, anything above £20 million would be considered fantastic business from The Whites.
