Rangers’ spectacular takeover is “all but done and dusted,” and new details about the Ibrox agreement have leaked.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Rangers had been in talks with 49ers Enterprises about a stunning bid since before January.

Paraag Marathe and his associates apparently seek to buy enough Rangers shares to become the club’s largest stakeholder and demand seats on the board.

After an update on the mega takeover at Rangers, it appears like the proposal to acquire the Glasgow giants is becoming more of a reality.

According to a London source, the broad agreement for Rangers’ takeover has been secured

The Daily Mail published an update late on Wednesday (19 February), citing a city source in London.

According to the Mail, the insider stated that the sale is “all but done and dusted” and that the American consortium, which also owns Leeds United, has obtained “at least pledges of controlling interest” in Rangers.

Furthermore, the source stated that general agreement has been reached with numerous key shareholders at Ibrox.

According to the article, Rangers is worth at almost £100 million, with recent numbers indicating that shares could have sold at 20p.

    Rangers have exciting things ahead.

Rangers are a sleeping monster ready to be awoken, and fans will be ecstatic about 49ers Enterprises’ involvement at Ibrox.

They only need to look across the border to see the impact they have had at Leeds United to understand how serious they will be about this enterprise.

The Whites are flying high at the top of the Championship, closing in on promotion to the Premier League after missing out on the play-offs last season.

    Rangers Shareholders Share (Round)
    Dave King 13%
    Douglas Park 12%
    George Taylor 10%
    Stuart Gibson 9.5%
    John Bennett 7%
Julian Wolhardt and John Halsted 7%

Rangers’ financial woes have been well documented for some time, and Philippe Clement has been frustrated in the transfer market during the last few windows.

That is not to dismiss the Belgian entirely of responsibility for Rangers’ on-field troubles this season, but it must be acknowledged that the hand he has been dealt off the field has not been kind.

Fresh funding and fresh ideas are desperately required at the Rangers, and the 49ers’ involvement is incredibly exciting.

It remains to be seen whether a takeover is successful, but for the time being, supporters can dream of a bright future.
