Rangers will ideally have enough of cash to spend in the summer transfer window after the 49ers Enterprises takeover is completed.
There will be less of a need to produce revenue from player sales before bringing new players in, as Philippe Clement has mentioned during transfer windows.
However, the club will still want to get rid of some of the deadwood, including loan players such as Rabbi Matondo, Kieran Dowell, and Ben Davies, among others.
Jose Cifuentes, who is now on loan at Greek club Aris Thessaloniki, is another.
Aris are said to have a £4.2 million option to sign the midfielder permanently in the summer.
However, there have been claims that the Greek Super Lig team will struggle to pay that in their quest to finish in the European spots.
Cifuentes’ chances of making a permanent move were once rated as’stuck’ due to his dismal performances.
However, the Ecuadorian’s performance improved, putting him back in the manager’s good books.
Aris hopes to reach an agreement with Rangers for Cifuentes.
According to a fresh source, Aris wants to sign the player permanently but will ask Rangers for a cheaper fee.
According to the Rangers Review, club officials have begun talks with colleagues at Ibrox to try to secure a contract for the 25-year-old.
They want to find a “more manageable” level within their budget to make Cifuentes a player.
Rangers paid £1 million to recruit Cifuentes from Los Angeles FC in 2023, so they will still expect to earn a profit.
How is Cifuentes faring at Aris?
For a while, it appeared that the midfielder might return to Ibrox early following a disappointing start to his time in Greece.
However, after a change of manager, new boss Apostolos Mantzios seems to ignite a fire within Cifuentes, and he hasn’t looked back.
He is currently a crucial player, having appeared in 25 games, 23 of which have been in the league, scoring once and providing two assists.
