Rangers get a treble injury boost as Barry Ferguson and John Souttar return to action.

Beaming Barry Ferguson couldn’t disguise his Rangers’ excitement as a trio of stars stepped up their claim to be crucial players during a historic March.

The interim manager is basking in the light of his team’s midweek comeback triumph over Kilmarnock and now has a trio of additional alternatives to call upon, with a double header against Fenerbahce on the horizon before taking his side to Celtic Park to face their fierce rivals on away territory. On Friday, Oscar Cortes and Dujon Sterling joined John Souttar on the training ground. Danilo’s return continued with only one appearance in the previous month, which was also encouraging.

Rangers face Jose Mourinho’s team in successive games, but Ferguson will not look past Motherwell on Saturday, with the interim manager insisting that every game is important in his bid to make the most of his time at Ibrox. And the manager appears to be preparing to call upon a larger team both locally and on the continent.
