Rangers are prepared to accept an instant transfer for Cyriel Dessers, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Italian tabloid reported in its print edition (page 23, 18 January) that the Gers are willing to let the Nigerian forward depart Ibrox permanently during the winter transfer window.
However, it is reported that Cagliari would prefer a loan deal with the option to buy the 30-year-old in the summer.
Dessers has played 20 games in the Scottish Premiership this season, scoring seven times, but has fallen out of favour in recent weeks.
Rangers are likely to offload wantaway Dessers.
Dessers has fallen behind Hamza Igamane and Danilo in the Ibrox pecking order, resulting in minimal playing time.
The Gers forward has played only 86 minutes in the last six league games, but he did score in a one-minute cameo against Aberdeen on Wednesday (15 January).
It makes sense for all parties if he leaves the Govan club during the winter transfer window, as the player will get regular game time and the club will receive a reasonable amount that will be used to rebuild the playing roster.
Clement sorely needs additions as the Bears aim to reduce the damage from arch-rivals Celtic’s 13-point lead at the top of the league.
The Nigerian is garnering interest from Spain and Italy, and it makes sense for him to leave considering his poor performance this season.
There has yet to be significant change, but with the window closing in little over two weeks, it remains one to watch.
