Leeds United head to QPR on Friday night, just a few days after their Monday night trip against Middlesbrough.
Marti Cifuentes, QPR’s manager, expects his side to go ‘all-in’ to secure survival against Leeds United on Friday night. On Saturday, the West London club defeated Preston North End 1-0 at Loftus Road, taking a significant step towards securing a spot in the Championship next season.
That victory moved QPR up to 18th in the Championship table, but Sheffield Wednesday’s win over Blackburn Rovers on Sunday afternoon means they are only four points above the relegation zone. As a result, while relegation appears unlikely at this moment, QPR understands that one more win will ensure their second-tier position for another season.
The Rs have struggled on home soil this season with their win over Preston being only their sixth in front of their own supporters. Cifuentes wants his side to capitalize on Saturday’s victory by defeating Leeds and securing survival in their final home game of the season.

“Right now it looks like a big step forward,” Cifuentes said of the club’s survival hopes on Saturday night. “But, regardless of what happens in the next few games, I believe the mindset – the winning culture – that we need in this club means that we will try to keep winning until the season ends.
“My thinking is that, while we made a major stride forward tonight, the job isn’t done until it’s done, so we need to make sure that we go all-in for the final two games.
“I’m going to sleep pretty well, that’s for sure. But until the job is done it’s not done. I’m very happy for the guys. It was a difficult game with a lot of pressure and we responded. We had to win this game. The focus was excellent and I’m very proud of the guys.”
