Liverpool fans are looking forward to new additions this summer, and with new manager Richard Hughes in place, the club may have an advantage when it comes to one Euro 2024 star.
The Reds are closely monitoring the market and plan to make their moves when the moment is perfect.
The Euros, along with the fact that English clubs are scrambling to address PSR issues, have already affected the market slightly.
Liverpool, on the other hand, is well-known for keeping an eye on the market when it comes to signings.
Last summer, they quickly and effectively signed Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, and Fabrizio Romano believes they will do the same with Riccardo Calafiori.
Several teams, notably Tottenham and Arsenal, are interested in signing the Italian defender.
However, it is possible that the Reds will have an advantage.
Fabrizio Romano explains why Liverpool may recruit Riccardo Calafiori swiftly.
Speaking on his YouTube channel regarding the scenario involving Calafiori, Romano stated that new Liverpool manager Richard Hughes is well aware of the Italian.
“Riccardo Calafiori, my friend, as I previously stated, many clubs are pushing,” Romano remarked.
“There is interest from many clubs, as I previously stated, and Liverpool director Richard Hughes, who was the director of Bournemouth, viewed him several times.
“So they already know the situation of Calafiori and the player so well but still haven’t presented any bid.”
Calafiori, praised by Micah Richards for his ‘outstanding’ achievements at the Euros thus far, has suddenly become one of the most sought-after players in the world.
Indeed, Bologna appears to be resigned to losing their man, which has opened the door for English clubs.
If Calafiori continues to impress throughout the tournament, Liverpool may be tempted to make a move for him.
