Carlton Palmer believes Daniel Farke should be given more time at Leeds United, despite speculation that West Brom manager Carlos Corberan could replace him.
The Whites have had a largely positive start to the campaign, but pressure on the Germans is already rising.
This could prompt the Elland Road leadership to consider Baggies manager Corberan as a potential successor later in the season.
Speaking to Football League World on September 20, Palmer believes Farke deserves more time and should not be replaced by the Spaniard.
He stated, “I think people have been cheeky talking about Daniel Farke leaving Leeds and Carlos Corberan taking charge there; it is nonsense. Apparently, Leeds are still interested in Corberan, but as I previously stated, I believe that is complete rubbish.
“I believe Daniel Farke should be given more time; he led them to the playoffs last season, and it has been really difficult for him this season.
“I think this is a bit of mischievousness, Leeds have a fantastic manager in Daniel Farke and West Brom currently have a top manager in Carlos Corberan.”
Daniel Farke is under pressure at Leeds United.
Last season went as well as supporters could have wanted, with 90 points earned during the campaign.
Unfortunately for the Whites, they were pipped to promotion by two top clubs who finished in better form than them.
It is fair to say that Farke deserves some criticism for this, although the start to the year has not been as negative.
Despite early draws against Portsmouth and West Brom, the form has been largely positive, despite a loss to Burnley at Elland Road.
The Clarets capitalized on their opportunities, although Leeds dominated the game and would have won by a few goals on another day rather than losing.
Again, Farke cannot be blamed for the setback since the players on the pitch let him down against his promotion rivals.
Looking ahead to a game against Cardiff City, the manager will be aiming to relieve some pressure with three points.
