Frances Milner, a fan with decades of experience in the third sector, has been named as the next CEO of the Leeds United Foundation.
Frances Milner, a South Stand regular, has been appointed CEO of Leeds United Foundation, the club’s official charity. Ms Milner has over 25 years of experience in the third sector and will now play an important role in her hometown at the team she supports.
Whites chief executive Angus Kinnear stated, “We are excited about the future of the Leeds United Foundation with Frances at the helm.” Frances has a track record of success in the charity sector, and we look forward to her leading the foundation in the right direction.
“Leeds United are committed to making a difference to the community and huge strides have been made over recent years in reconnecting with people in the local area through various programmes and activities, having a positive impact on their lives and wellbeing.”
Ms Milner spent the previous four years as The Prince’s Trust’s director of fundraising and marketing. Prior to that, she spent ten years with Cancer Research UK in several top positions.
Ms Milner spoke to the cancer charity in 2020 about her love for the Whites and where she seats at Elland Road on matchdays.
“I work in London, but live in Leeds,” she informed me. “So, my first priority this weekend is spending time with my family. I enjoy having my wellies on and being outside.
“I enjoy walking in the Dales and Lakes, and I am an avid gardener. One of the unique aspects of my garden is that many of the plants were donated to me by supporters, relatives, and friends throughout the years.
“In that sense, my garden reflects who I am. And finally, I support Leeds United. On Saturdays, you can find me in the South Stand at Elland Road.”
James Rogers, Chair of the Leeds United Foundation, said: “I’m delighted Frances has joined the foundation as CEO. The foundation is continually seeking for ways to serve the local community, and we have seen significant development in recent years.
“It served more than 43,000 people in the city and surrounding areas last year.” Frances brings a wealth of experience from the charitable sector.
“I look forward to working closely with Frances and the foundation’s trustees and staff to continue to deliver some fantastic programmes for the communities of Leeds.”
